We Give BackBuilding a Healthy World
At Mannatech, we believe a healthy world is a better world. That’s why we’re on a mission to fight childhood malnutrition.
As you read this, 55 million children around the world are suffering from malnutrition. It is a devastating problem with potentially life-long consequences. Undernutrition can hinder brain development, reduce intellectual capacity, and stunt growth. The World Food Programme says that 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world.
Yet, malnutrition is about more than an empty belly. Current food programs designed to help children are mainly cereal-based and lack many of the nutrients growing bodies need. In fact, fortified, blended flours no longer meet the minimum nutritional criterial for young children set by experts at the World Health Organization. Just filling a child’s stomach is a temporary fix to a much bigger problem. Poor nutrition causes 45% of deaths in children under 5, according to The Lancet, 2013. That’s 3.1 million children each year.
How Mannatech Helps
In 2015, Mannatech launched The M5M Foundation—an independent 501(c) (3) nonprofit charity organization designed specifically to tackle the problem of childhood malnutrition.
And, Mannatech scientists created a product to address this need. PhytoBlend™ powder is a powerful nutritional supplement designed to work with large feeding programs.
- It contains over 20 vitamins and minerals to help promote and maintain good health and vitality.*
- It’s suitable for vegetarians. None of the ingredients in the formula are obtained from animal sources.
- Served in a powder form, it can easily be added to a variety of foods such as soups, rice, and porridge, making it ideal for large feeding programs.
